Criteria for formatting the final version of the paper for publication

As part of the Symposium Confucius and the Emergence of Contemporary China, interventions can be given in Romanian, Chinese or English. We would like to point out that the organizers do not provide interpretation or translation services during the plenary presentations.

Given the specialized nature of the communications and to facilitate the understanding of the main ideas by the audience, we recommend that the authors of the introductory conferences and scientific contributions prepare at least a summary of the intervention in English.

This will be sent to the Organizing Committee by March 16th, 2026, to be projected on the screen during the respective intervention.

Authors who have a full English version of their contribution and wish to have it made available for participants are invited to contact the Organizing Committee, which can facilitate the prior publication of the work on the website confucius.usv.ro.

The organizers may provide limited language assistance (English and Chinese) to facilitate communication during discussions and interactions between participants and outside of plenary presentations.

Message regarding the submission of materials and participation in the Symposium

  1. In order to ensure the optimal conduct of the Symposium and to facilitate the process of pre-loading digital materials, we invite participants included in the official program to submit the full text or abstract of the contribution in English by March 16, 2026. This request aims to standardize the presentations, with the exception of authors who will give their presentations directly in English. At the same time, for the latter, we recommend submitting the Romanian version of the contribution, in order to complete the event documentation.
  2. Given that the symposium program was established based on individual registrations and benefited from extensive national and international media coverage, the presence of the authors at the communication sessions held in the “Dimitrie Leonida” Amphitheater is essential. In the event of exceptional and unforeseen circumstances that could prevent a contributor from being physically present, he/she is requested to send the organizers a video or audio recording of his/her presentation, in order to ensure the continuity and quality of the scheduled academic debates.

Accommodation and meals for participants with papers at the Symposium Confucius and the Emergence of Contemporary China (Suceava, March 18-21, 2026)

The initiative committee has reached out to central and local public institutions for sponsorship of the symposium. We have also approached various companies that have commercial relations with China. The process of searching for sponsors is still ongoing, and a report will be available around March 15, 2026.

Irregarding of the situation, meal and accommodation solutions are already provided for participants with papers at the symposium.

Participants from China, who come for the Symposium, are accommodated as guests in the facilities of the “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava.

The following options are currently available for all active participants:

  • 20 – 30 single rooms at the Balada and Prestige hotels; costs (300 RON per room + 50 RON breakfast) per night (we obtained a 50 RON discount compared to the usual pricing). The accommodation request should be made individually and it must specify “Accommodation for the Symposium Confucius and the Emergence of Contemporary China”.
  • 15 – 20 micro apartments on campus (100 RON room + 25 RON breakfast) per night. Registration for these is made at: confucius@usv.ro

For lunch (Thursday and Friday) at the University Restaurant the cost is 35 – 40 RON, and for dinner on Friday evening the cost is 25 – 30 RON. Everyone will decide what they want to serve and will pay accordingly. The meal can be served at the counter, or you can be served by the restaurant staff, in which case a small service charge is also paid.
